Good Morning,

There has been a change in how we are to report the race field. There
were 5 race choices in the past but the choices will be expanded to 7.
Please see the old choices and the new choices below. The major change
is that a new race category was added 7- Two or more races. In addition
the race code of Asian or Pacific Islander was split into two separate
categories. We will continue to count the Asian race as race code 2 but
we have added race category 6 which is Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific
Islander. This implementation is effective immediately.

In years past these were the following choices:

1-- American Indian or Alaska Native
2-- Asian or Pacific Islander
3 -- Black (not Hispanic)
4 -- Hispanic
5 -- White (not Hispanic)

These are the new choices:

1 -- American Indian or Alaskan Native
2 -- Asian
3 -- Black or African American
4-- Hispanic/Latino
5 -- White
6 -- Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
7 -- Two or more races
