NYS-MEP Video

This short film provides an understanding of the New York State Migrant Education Program (NYS-MEP), the range of educational programs and support services that the program provides, and the migratory children and families that the program serves!

Thank you to all the Directors, Migrant Educators, and Recruiters who participated in the recent premiere of the Summer 2018 Video. We share your excitement for the short video and we really appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting to share it with your students and families and the community-at-large. One Migrant Educator even expressed how wonderful it would be to show the short film to school districts in order to give them a better understanding of the New York State Migrant Education Program (NYS-MEP), the range of educational programs and support services that the program provides, and the migratory children and families that the program serves! For those of you who were unable to attend, this is a tremendous resource for you as well!

Each METS has received in the mail a USB flash drive loaded with the 16-minute video file. You can use the flash drive when showing the video at locations with unstable or no internet connection. Feel free to make additional copies or request them from TASC as well.

In addition to the flash drive, below you will find a link for accessing the video online via Vimeo and another link which you can use to download the mp4 file and save it to any of your local devices. Please feel free to share these links.

You can also find the video on this website in the "Library," under "Resources."

The informational and promotional uses of this short video are limitless, constrained only by our imagination! Wouldn’t it be helpful if we can share with each other how we, as individual METS, Migrant Educators, and the Statewide Program Center use the video in the field? This sharing of ideas and information as a system will surely push us to become more effective at communicating the what, who, when, where, and how of the NYS-MEP and to inspire support and collaboration with schools, school districts, and community partners.

Finally, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our students, parents, educators, and directors who agreed to be interviewed and filmed. We also want to thank everyone who provided help and support with this project. YOU made this video a success! The interviews and scenes from each location show and tell a wonderful story of the New York State Migrant Education Program (NYS-MEP).
