Description

Participants will review the 2023-24 BOLST assessment tools, discuss the process of administering the assessment both virtually and in person, and learn about best practices for consistent administration and data collection. Bring your questions and comments to this session about using the BOLST.

About the Presenter

Travis Williamson, Out of School Youth Training Coordinator, Recruiter for NYS-MEP ID&R

Travis is now in his 15th year with the Migrant Education Program and over the years has held many positions. Working alongside OSY Specialists and fellow Recruiters nationwide, he enjoys collaborating about ideas and strategies, in the hopes of better serving students. This most recently includes his part in the development of the iSOSY student portal. Travis worked for three years with the South Carolina Department of Education where he played a role in many initiatives of the South Carolina MEP. Travis is currently a member of the iSOSY and IDRC consortia and presented at several national and state conferences to demonstrate how mapping and technological strategies can improve with serving and finding students.

The content in this presentation is geared towards serving the migrant populations in New York State as defined under Title I, Part C and the approved State Service Delivery Plan, and may NOT be appropriate to all situations.
