The story, "In the Chicken Coop," tells why chickens need to stay in the yard, instead of getting out. The  Farm Picture-Word Cards show a variety of tools and animals related to farming. Parents can use the picture-word cards for more ideas of things to talk about with their child.

Please see  In the Chicken Coop from the TextProject’s BeginningReads series. Note: This story and the farm picture-word cards are available in English. The “Translation Bookmark” below translates both the story and the picture-word cards into Burmese, Karen, and Spanish.
