The resources below can help you to identity an instructional plan for each student.

Student Literacy Profile

After you administer the easyCBM assessments, complete the Student Literacy Profile.

Keep in mind:

  • The student's proficiency in English because it impacts his or her performance on the easyCBM.
  • Asking the teacher about the student's reading skills and reading level to help you determine the specific area of reading support that the student needs.
  • Using the easyCBM Passage Reading Fluency (PRF) score: If the student is below the benchmark (40%), you can use the Phonics Screener to pinpoint the student's gap in reading skills.

Phonics Screener

When the Student Literacy Profile identifies a need for the student to work on fluency skills, you can us the Phonics Screener to identify specific skills that the student needs to learn or practice.

About the Quick Phonics Screener:

  • The Phonics Screener has short "Tasks" to identify a student's strength and challenge areas.
  • Use the directions on the first page for administering the Tasks.
  • Then you can use the easyCBM Logic Model below and the rest of this ELA Resource Library to access instructional materials that address skills for the tasks identified.
