Description

This workshop will help create understanding for reporting incidences of Bully, Harassment and Discrimination that may occur in schools.  We will review the reporting procedures and forms under New York State's Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) legislation. We will also practice using the form with several scenarios.

The content in this presentation is geared towards serving the migrant populations in New York State as defined under Title I, Part C and the approved State Service Delivery Plan, and may NOT be appropriate to all situations.

Meet the Presenter

Tracey D. Messinger, M.S. Ed., Migrant Specialist and DASA Lecturer 

Tracey has over 30 years of experience working in crisis management, prevention education, and community advocacy. She has over 20 years working with the Migrant Education Program. Tracey works as part of a team that developed the SUNY Cortland DASA workshops that are required for teacher certification and has been a Lecturer for the DASA workshops for over 10 years. She also developed DASA workshops for the NYS Migrant Education Program for parents, students, and staff.
