The Instructional Focus and Fluency charts provide a starting point for Migrant Educators transitioning to New York State’s Next Generation of Learning Standards for Mathematics. Each Instructional Focus includes the related Development Focus and Instructional Considerations via individual Learning Standards. Each Fluency includes a description of the related Fluency development and Fluency Standard. In addition, the charts add a note when the related Learning Standard is schedule for instruction after the annual NYS Math Assessments for Grades 3-8 are given. This assists Migrant Educators in planning how best to prioritize math support during the school year and summer.
