The Bassett Healthcare Network - New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) is located in Cooperstown, NY. Their mission is enhancing agricultural and rural health by preventing and treating occupational injury and illness.
NYCAMH’s Farmworker Safety Posters are good to use with all OSY students, but especially with those OSY students who are not able to meet during a regular class time. Migrant Educators can explain one of the handouts in five minutes.
The Farmworker Safety Posters contain a variety of health and safety information that is useful for workers at a dairy farm, a cash-crop farm, or in a packinghouse. Migrant Educators can select the topics that best fit their students’ individual needs. All of the handouts are available in English and Spanish.
In addition to the Safety Posters, you can also find Fotonovelas (Comics,) videos, and safety brochures in both English and Spanish. The Safety Policy Templates could be a good resource to share with farmers.
