The Educator Guide for the Regents Examination in English Language Arts has been updated in August 2025 to include the directions and rubrics. The Guide provides specific information about the test development process, learning standards that the tests are designed to measure, test specifications, test design, and other important material for educators. This examination will be administered for the first time in June 2026.
DESCRIPTION: Use these materials to help prepare a student to take the NYS Common Core English Language Arts Regents Exam.
FOUR SESSIONS: What can you do when you have four approximately one-hour sessions to work with the student to prepare for the ELA Regents Exam? These four sessions focus on being familiar with the exam and reviewing key skills. The Facilitator Guide starts with general information about the ELA Regents Exam, followed by specific guidance and answers for using the student handouts.
EXPANDED LESSONS: The Expanded Lessons allow the students more time to practice the skills they need to excel. In this version, each lesson has a student handout and matching copy for the Educator. Each Educator copy provides additional guidance, explanations, and answers for the lesson.
