School Districts have the 2024-25 and 2025-26 program years to transition from the "Earth Science" course to the "Earth & Space Sciences" course that uses New York State’s newer Next Generation Standards.
- Check with individual school districts to ask which course they are using.

Reference Tables for Earth and Space Sciences, 2024 Edition
- Available via the NYS Education Department's website, students should use Reference Tables throughout the year to become familiar with the content, so they can quickly find the section(s) needed during the Regents Exam.
- Currently available in English and eight other languages, including Spanish, which was updated in October 2025.
Bilingual Glossaries and Cognates- an essential and expected test accommodation for ELLs/MLLs in NYS
- Available from the NYU Steinhardt website, glossaries are sorted by subject matter and created for educators, students, parents, and families in supporting instruction for English language learners.
- Students can practice with them throughout the year. They translate word-to-word, without definitions, and can be used while students take the Regents Examinations.
- Access the Bilingual Glossaries for High School Earth Science, including the High School Earth & Space Science Supplemental Glossary. Students can refer to both resources for support.
Past Regents Examinations for Earth and Space Sciences
- Available via the NYS Education Department’s website, students can use past exams to study and prepare for this year’s exam.
- Currently available in English and eight other languages, including Spanish.
