Developing Self-Advocacy Skills Series

Self Advocacy Continuum

This is a 5-part series which starts with a firm foundation in one’s own identity, and then adds skills and strategies for participants to use as a self-advocate. Designed for use with parents in workshop settings or the home. The suggestions for adapting the workshop to use with Adolescents are included in the facilitator's guide.

The first module, “Our Culture is a Positive Tool in Schools” creates the base for the rest of the series to build on. The rest of the modules can be used in any order or as a stand alone workshop.

Developed by Jermaine Soto, Director of Operations for the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Vanderbilt University.
