DASA - Protecting Your Children: What Parents Need to Know About Bullying

Purple Ribbon for Stopping Bullying

Bullying has been a concern of migrant parents for many years. The NYS Migrant Education Program developed this DASA series in response to parents who asked how to help their children when bullying occurs.

DASA for Parents breaks down the NYS Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) into three workshops. Each workshop has a focus topic as well as including basic information about the DASA Legislation and how to report their concerns and any incidents.

These workshops are designed to assist parents in the Migrant Education program with skill development pertaining to bullying and the legislation as it pertains to school climate and student safety.

Each workshop has its own Facilitator Guide, PowerPoint, and participant handouts to support the facilitator. The participant handouts are available in four languages: English, Myanmar (Burmese), Karen, and Spanish.
