Description
This professional learning experience is designed to empower educators with universal strategies for tackling math word problems across grade levels. In this session, we’ll explore practical approaches to solving problems that emphasize number sense as the foundation for understanding. Through provided examples and time to practice, participants will learn how to:
- Explore what number sense looks like in real-world problem solving.
- Use structured problem-solving strategies.
- Teach students how to interpret word problems and identify key information.
- Incorporate number sense strategies to promote reasoning, estimation, and flexibility in solving word problems.
