"Close Up" Washington Trip (June 2018)

This past June, fourteen student’s history books were brought to life as they voyaged to the Nation’s Capital.  The trip to Washington D.C brought a plethora of firsts.  Whether it was their first time flying on a plane, riding on the city’s metro, or traveling alone for the first time, this was the first time students were able to experience first hand how our country evolved.

Introducing a New Form of Professional Development (PD) for Migrant Educators

The New York State Migrant Education Program is introducing a new form of professional development (PD) for Migrant Educators.

Indeed, well-done PD is crucial for all teachers, but the idea of losing a day of valuable tutoring time leaves many Migrant Educators scrambling for more time to fit in workshops and training among already very busy schedules. PD should not cause apprehension, but be seen as a valuable part of work life, career-building, and life-long learning.

Let’s be honest, PD training needs to be flexible. Give me options people!
