Supporting Educators:
The Child Development Framework provides activities educators can use to actively engage children in their learning experience.
Supporting Parents and Families as the First Teacher of their Child:
The Child Development Framework is designed to be shared with parents and families. Educators can introduce the handout and start a conversation with parents about what they see their children doing. Educators can model ways to practice skills that parents have questions about.
When Parents Have Concerns About Their Children:
Educators can use the reminders written on each handout.
- Every child develops at her or her own pace. Your five-year-old might be ready for these activities.
- Parents: You know your child best. If you have any concerns about your child’s development, talk with your child’s medical provider. If your child goes to a preschool program, talk with your child’s teacher, too.
The Child Development Framework is Available in the Five Languages Below:
The English and Spanish languages have a choice between a one-page handout or longer handout using large print.
- One-Page Format: This handout has everything on one page.
- Large Print Format: The larger font can make information easier to read. Each page can be used to focus a conversation on one or two areas at a time.
