Learning About Car Seats

On December 8, 2018, 9 parents and 11 children came to a workshop on car seat safety hosted by the Mid-Hudson Migrant Program. During our home visits in the fall, we found out that many of our migrant families did not realize the importance of having a car seat for their children. Many of the children did not have a car seat and the families were not able to afford one.

Brockport METS uses video conferencing to engage parents in two counties in dialog about how to help their children stop bullying.

Parents in Albion, Orleans County and Lockport, Niagara County could see and talk to each other using video conferencing technology about a very important topic last weekend.

2018 Brockport METS Summer School

In a culminating art project, the seventy-five students enrolled at the 2018 Brockport METS Summer School created a mural. The project evolved during the final week of Summer School, with each class in grades 1-8 contributing ideas; the older students started the drawings; and every student painting the 4’ x 8’ mural.

You couldn’t miss them! Butterflies were everywhere during Parent Night at the Sullivan Migrant Summer School (SMSS) this July, where Migration was the theme.  Laminated butterflies hung from the ceilings, with one wing illustrating the life cycle of a butterfly and the other wing bearing the personal story of a student. Butterfly garlands decorated the walls.
