Last program year, the Brockport METS facilitated three, four-hour long sessions as part of their Scholarship Essay Workshop series for high school students. The Scholarship Essay Workshop’s process aims to help students tell their story in a way that is empowering and cathartic for the students as well as effective in obtaining scholarships.

The North Country METS has been building a toolbox of technology resources and broadening the skill sets of all staff for many years, culminating in several 2019-20 program highlights.

During 2019-20, the Cortland METS piloted the use of the Child Development Framework Milestones materials. They provided professional development to Migrant Educators and reviewed the three, four, and five-year old CDC developmental milestone content.

During the 2019-20 program year, the Long Island Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services (METS) Program Center continued to develop and leverage relationships with various community partners in response to the emerging needs related to the pandemic.

In the Southeast region of New York State, the Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services (METS) Program Center responded to the emerging needs related to COVID-19 beginning in April 2020 by organizing and facilitating five Parent Town Hall Events.
