(2026) Presented in Spanish, students will take part in a practical life skills lesson focused on ordering food in person, over the phone, and through websites or apps. During the English class portion, we will explore food-related vocabulary and practice essential phrases for ordering, such as “I would like” and “I want.”

(2026) Presented in Spanish, participants will hear from a health care advocate about the importance of regularly visiting the doctor. The advocate will also discuss the types of financial assistance available for medical services and alternative options for accessing healthcare for individuals who do not have their own transportation. A short Q & A session will follow, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions. During the English class portion of the workshop, participants will learn how to schedule a medical appointment, including useful vocabulary and common phrases.
