“Animal Sounds”

Early childhood lesson - animal sounds

Description:   The lesson warms up with a counting game and shape puzzle.  Reading pairs the wordless version of the story, “Animal Sounds,” from the Reading A-Z website with the Farm-Picture-Word Cards from the Prekinders.com website. Educators are encouraged to read the animal sounds with expression! In the connected activity, students draw themselves and a speech bubble with the words the student says. Students practice writing letters in their name and make a name puzzle. Parent engagement is encouraged with the use of the Translation Bookmark for the Farm-Picture-Word Cards (available in Burmese, Karen, and Spanish)
