DASA for Students (1): Introduction to the NYS Legislation

This workshop introduces students to the NYS Dignity for All Students Act (DASA). The workshop will develop awareness around the issues of bullying, harassment, and discrimination and introduce how to use the structure of DASA to report concerns. Activities will help students develop self-advocacy skills.

  • Facilitator Guide – Provides details and suggestions to help the facilitator become more familiar with the topic. (Updated December 2022)
  • PowerPoint – Provides images to support students’ understanding. This is in English only.
  • Vocabulary Posters:  Ten 8 ½” by 11” posters, one for each of the ten vocabulary words with their definitions.  These can be held or posted.  These are in English. The vocabulary words and definitions are all translated in the participant handout about NYS Protected Groups under DASA.
